ART JEWELLERY WUNDERVENUS JEWELS SIMAN IRINA collection WUNDERGARTEN giardino delle meraviglie sterling silver lost wax casting
The artist has previously studied design, digital arts, fashion, sculpture, accomplishing it with jewellery arts to gain multifaceted proficiency that finally resulted in WUNDERVENUS.
WUNDERVENUS seeks to merge antinomies, extracting the power of two opposites that would collide and blend together to create energy-loaded jewellery pieces: fusing chaos and symmetry, disorder and order, roughness and beauty, miracle and logic.
WUNDERVENUS jewellery unifies wonder as mythopoetic viewpoint and beauty as harmonising power.
The collection THE CABINET OF CURIOSITIES refers to the first scientific and art collections - wunderkammer - set up during Renaissance and Baroque by European princes, rulers and scholars preserving rare phenomena of nature, precious artworks, objects from strange worlds and inexplicable items. It was the period when science was still holistic, and a scientist was more an alchemist with universal curiosity towards multiple disciplines: medicine, biology, astrology, gemology, physics and mathematics.
The artist reanimates the wunderkammer tradition and creates the cabinet of phantasmagorical specimens, curiosities and mirabilia that could have been developed if the evolution would take another path.
The collection WUNDERGARTEN is the collection of micro-sculptures modeled as fabulous organic shapes that remind of inclusions in the rocks of errupted volcano. Solidified imprints of disappeared flora, they merge chaos and symmetry in organic patterns. The collection is a mesmerizing walk through imaginary garden.
